Governor Hochul announced that NYSERDA has finalized contracts for the projects selected in NYSERDA’s 2020 Offshore Wind Solicitation.

The 1,260-megawatt Empire Wind 2 and 1,230-megawatt Beacon Wind projects were provisionally awarded in January 2021 as a result of NYSERDA’s second offshore wind solicitation. Expected to enter commercial operation in 2027 and 2028, respectively, the projects

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the groundbreaking for Plug Power’s newest manufacturing facility, located at the Vista Technology Campus in Slingerlands, Albany County. Governor Hochul Announces Historic Wind Energy Auction Off New York And New Jersey Coast

Governor Kathy Hochul today in conjunction with United States Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler announced that the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will be holding a wind auction on February 23 for an area consisting of 488,000 acres located in the New York Bight, along with a plan for a coordinated offshore wind supply chain effort between New York, New Jersey and BOEM, titled “A Shared Vision on the Development of an Offshore Wind Supply Chain.”
