Nebraska State Profile and Energy Estimates

Located in the center of the continental United States, Nebraska is a Plains state with rolling hills that include about 20,000 square miles of ancient sand dunes beneath the prairie grasses. Those sandhills cover more than one-fourth of the state and sit on top of a vast, shallow aquifer that extends beneath parts of eight states and provides groundwater crucial for agriculture.
