Clinton Global Initiative 2023 Meeting

Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes global leaders to create and implement solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges, including climate change, inclusive economic growth, and health equity. To date, members of the CGI community have made more than 3,900 Commitments to Action that have made a difference in the lives of more than 435 million people in more than 180 countries.

The Women in Energy program at the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, in collaboration with the Global Wind Energy Council and Global Renewables Alliance, invites you to join us for a discussion and networking reception on global careers in renewable energy.

The event will feature a panel discussion on how renewable energy varies by region. Panelists will also discuss their career journeys in the clean energy space and the skill sets needed to thrive in the sector. The event will conclude with a networking reception.

L.A. Times Ask A Reporter: Our Climate Change Challenge

On Sept. 19 Times reporters Rosanna Xia and Sammy Roth will discuss “Our Climate Change Challenge” during a live streaming event starting at 6 p.m. PT.

City Editor Maria La Ganga will moderate this discussion, based on a Times special report investigating the state of climate change in California – and what we can do about it.

The project explores a wide range of timely, practical topics such as recycling, composting, use of solar energy at home, sustainable design, public transit, reduced waste kitchens and Southern California's air quality. Readers are invited to share their questions and suggestions before and during the Sept. 19 event.
